Born and brought up in Fife, Scotland, "Mags" had an early introduction to the annual airshow at RAF Leuchars as a small child in the early 1960s. Keen to see her favourite aircraft, the Vulcan (of course!) she continued her annual Leuchars trip right through the 1970s.
A new NHS career in the 1980s meant that Mags had neither the time nor money to mess around with aeroplanes, until the 1990s when she discovered the joys of gliding! Life was also now a little less hectic and Mags was once again able to return to the airshow interest she had given up some years before. She now has a Private Pilot Licence and regularly flies a very neat Jodel, and she still has a passion for gliding in an aging ASW20!
Mags' talent for drawing began as just a bit of fun after becoming involved with a couple of aviation websites. Determined to add something light-hearted, she discovered that Concorde's designers had given her a head start with nice big eyes, and even the eyebrows! More illustrations followed for her gliding and flying clubs, with subjects ranging from humble Cessnas up to powerful military aircraft.
Currently, as you might imagine, Mags spends most of her spare time drawing a certain Avro Vulcan!
